CBI raids BCCL's former GM's residences

Dhanbad, Apr 26 (UNI) A CBI team today raided former BCCL General Manager and Northern Coal Fields Limited Chief General Manager Arun Kumar Charan Paharia's residences and recovered about Rs 80,000 in cash and papers worth Rs 20 lakhs.

CBI Superintendent of Police R N Azad told reporters here that a series of raids were conducted simultaneously in four houses in Dhanbad(Jharkhand), one each in Singrouli(Madhya Pradesh) and Nawada (Bihar), in view of Mr Paharia's involvement in misappropriation of funds worth Rs 63.66 lakhs during his tenure as the General Manager of Bharat Cooking Coal LimitedBCCL's Sijua mine.

Besides cash, papers, including bank passbook and share documents, were recovered in the raid, Mr Azad added.
