C Sec-Badarpur line targetted for completion in June 2010
New Delhi, Apr 26 (UNI) The recently approved Central Secretariat-Badarpur metro corridor is targetted to be completed by June 2010, Uunion Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken told Parliament today.
The corridor that was considered and approved by the central Government on April 20 was targetted for completion by June 2010, he informed Rajya Sabha.
Inderlok/Kirti Nagar-Mundaka and Shahdara-Dilshad Garden corridors, work on which was already underway, were expected to be completed by March 2010 and December 2008 respectivly.
A Central Secretariat-Faridabad corridor was also envisaged as an extension of Central Secretariat-Badarpur corridor. A proposal received from Haryana government on Apriol 19 for extending the metro line from Badarpur upto YMCA Chowk in Faridabad.
However, the proposal was yet to be approved and recommended by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation board and Delhi government for sanction from the central government.
Mr Maken said road connectivities had been provided to all metro lines and metro stations. DMRC had reported that feeder services through RTVs and similar buses were also planned for operation by the State Transport Authority/DMRC wherever existing bus routes were not considered adequate.
