AIADMK stages dharna in House

Puducherry, Apr 26 (UNI) The members of opposition AIADMK today staged a dharna in the Well of the Puducherry Assembly demanding security for them.

Making a special mention during the Zero Hour, its legislature party leader A Anbazhagan said posters had appeared in the city carrying derogatory remarks against senior officals and legislators.

Referring to his demand for erecting a statue of Ambedkar at Pathukkannu junction he alleged that he was branded as a 'caste fanatic' by some organisations. Another poster threatened him over his raising of Dalit christians issue in the House yesterday, he added.

A group had ridiculed him for his question on the Dalit christians he alleged and wondered how such people were being allowed into the House while the session was in progress.

Mr Anbazhagan wanted a reply from Chief Minister N Rangasamy on the issue.

However, Speaker R Radhakrishnan invited another member to present his special mention. Mr Anbazhagan along with other two members-- Om Sakthi Sekhar and Omalingam immediately moved to the podium of the Speaker and staged a dharna in the Well of the House.
