TN: AIADMK, MDMK walkout from council meeting

Madurai, Apr 26: Protesting against irregularities in the tenders called by the city corporation, councillors belonging to the opposition AIADMK and the MDMK today staged a walk-out from the council meeting.

The 11 AIADMK members and lone MDMK member made vociferous protests, raising the issue of irregularities in the tenders called for various programmes of the Corporation.

When their request for a discussion on the issue was turned down, they staged walkout from the meeting.

Later, they resorted to a road blockade in front of the corporation complex prompting the police to arrest them.

All the arrested were released later, police added.
