1 injured, 40 hutments reduced to ashes

Sitapur, Apr 26 (UNI) One person suffered burns and about 40 hutments were reduced to ashes in a major fire at Kirtapur village in Biswan area here today.

Several cattle perished in the inferno and there was loss of property worth several lakhs of rupees occurred. Later, the fire brigade reached the spot and brought the flames under control.

According to police, the accident occurred this afternoon, when a shanty caught fire as the lady of the house was preparing food.

The flames soon spread in the vicinity due to winds.
