Zee Telefilm's revamp plan for Tech studio awaiting green signal
Kolkata, Apr 25(UNI) The Zee Telefilm's revamp plan for Technician's studio is awaiting the light of the day, with the Bengal government expressing readiness to open the financial bid.
Speaking to UNI, State Information and Culture department Principal Secretary Dilip Kumar Chakrabarty said,''The financial bid will be soon opened and if the reserve price is higher then we will accept it. Zee being the single bidder, we will allow them to revamp the Technician's studio depending on the financial bid. Otherwise re-bid will be a possibility.'' The technical committee of the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) has recently approved the technical bid.
Zee Telefilms was the only company to have submitted a bid for the ailing state-owned Technicians Studio. Few months back they gave a presentation to Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on their plans to revamp the studio. The Technicians Studio currently has 35 employees.
Zee has also agreed to retain all 35 employees of the sick Public Sector Undertaking, he said.
As for properties owned by the PSU, while Technicians 1 has 145 cottahs of land, Technicians 2 has got 43 cottahs. Besides, a vacant plot at Prince Anwar Shah Road, which belongs to the studio, measures about 35 cottahs.
