Zebra launches latest RFID barcode printers in India
Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) Nasdaq listed firm Zebra Technologies, a leading manufactuers of barcode printers, today announced the launch of its latest RFID printers in India.
Addressing mediapersons here today, Zebra Technologies Territory Manager (India) Shailesh Deshmukh said Zebra printers have succeeded in capturing 42-45 per cent of the Indian market in a span of three years.
In India, the largest client of barcode printers are the manufacturing, warehousing and logistics industry, while other sectors such as postal and health industry are yet to discover or implement the benefits of barcode techology, he said.
Mr Deshmukh pointed out that the company has managed a growth of 82 per cent year over a year in the Indian market. As a result, the Group has decided to establish offices in Mumbai and Delhi to overlook the expansion plans of the company.
Zebra printers are manufactured and shipped from the United States and the pricing of all its products are India specific, he said.
He said Zebra manufactures printers of all sizes, ranging from mobile printers to high-end industrial printers, to cater to the vertical market of retail, warehousing and logistics, post and parcel, public administration, utilities, hospitality, leisure and pleasure industry.
The company has also formed a dedicated team of 55 Zebra certified engineers to support the technical base of the Group in India and Central East Europe, where the company is concentrating currently, Mr Deshmukh said.
Formed in 1969, Zebra Technology provides rugged and reliable speciality printing solutions, including on-demand thermal bar code label and receipt printers and supplies, plastic card printers and RFID smart label printer/encoders.
The Group's international distribution and sales network encompasses more than 90 countries, he added.
