'Veluthakathreena' bags 'Minnele TV award

Kozhikode, Apr 25 (UNI) Bensy Martin's 'Veluthakathreena' telecast by Kairali Television bagged the 'Minnele' award for best Malayalam TV serial.

Announcing this at a press conference here today, award committee chairman Roy Manappalli said K K Rajeev was adjuged as the best director ('Ammamanassu'-Asianet), while Mukundan and Ranjini G Krishnan as best male and female actors for their role in 'Swantham Suryaputhri' and 'Samadooram' respectively (both by Asianet).

Renowned actors Sukumari and M R Gopalakrishan bagged special awards for their outstanding contributions to the field, while Irshad ('Manassariyathe'-Surya) and Kalaranjini ('Daya'-Kairali) walked away with the best supporting male and female award, instituted by Kochi-based Ajith Ravi Pegasus Group of Companies, he said.

The awards would be presented to them at an 'Award Nite' programme organised by the company here on April 28, he added.
