Undertrial receives gunshot wound in jail

Gwalior, MP, Apr 24 (UNI) An undertrial was injured today when he received a gunshot in the central jail here.

Jail Superintendent Suhel Ahmed said six-seven jail inmates were sitting outside barrack number 5 when Monu was attacked. He was rushed to hospital where medical examination revealed gunshot wound.

Police surrounded the jail premises after the incident. A search was carried out but nothing was found.

The Inspector General of Police (Jail) told UNI over telephone the matter would be investigated by DIG level officer. Strict action would be taken against those being found guilty.

UNI
