Under stress employee dies in mishap, company manager booked

Phagwara, Apr 25 (UNI) Four persons were killed in different mishaps in and around the town since last night, police today said.

According to reports received here. an employee of Kotak Securities, Vivek Mehta was killed on the spot when his car rammed into a roadside tree near Jamalpur village last night.

Chander Mohan father of the deceased alleged that his deceased son was being tortured and harassed by the manager of Kotak Securities and the accident occured as the deceased was under mental stress. Police has registered a case under section 306 and 506 IPC against the manager, Amardeep.

The dead body of the deceased was handed over to the family members after conducting post morterm examination at the civil hospital.

In second mishap, a scooterist identified as Gurdial Singh of Kangniwal village was killed on the spot, when his scooter was hit by a speeding car near Zandiala Manjki village last night. The deceased was returning home. Police has registered a case against the car driver who sped away after hitting the scooter.

In the third accident, an unidentified middle aged man was run over by a train near Mauli village on the Phagwara-Goraya rail section last night.

In the fourth mishap, a migrant labourer identified as Lallu was killed on the spot when he was hit by a speeding jeep near Rawalpindi village on Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road last night.
