Two dead in bus accident, 35 injured

Dehradun, Apr 25 (UNI) Two persons, including a woman, died and 35 others were injured in a bus accident at Chamba in Tehri district of Uttarakhand today.

According to State Disaster Mitigation and Management Centre, a bus heading to Budakedar from Rishikesh carrying 37 passangers fell into a 50 metre- deep gorge at Sabli at about 1145 hrs, injuring all the 37 occupants including the driver. Four passengers including two women received serious injuries. All the injured were admitted to the Masiha Hospital where Rajendra Prasad Bhatt (48) and Rami Devi (40) succumbed to their injuries.

Chief Minister Maj Gen (Retd) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri has ordered a magistrial enquiry into the accident and announced Rs 50,000 for the next of kin of the dead passengers, Rs 20,000 for the seriously injured and Rs 5,000 for the injured passangers.
