Tibetans protest demanding release of Panchena Lama

Mysore, Apr 25 (UNI) Hundreds of Tibetans under the banner 'Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and Tibetan Women's Association' today took out a protest march demanding the release of the youngest political prisoner Panchen Lama by China.

The agitators marched through the main streets as part of the 18th Birthday celebrations of the 11th Panchen Lama, held captive by China since 1995.

They urged the United Nations Human Rights Commission and world leaders to use their good offices for his release.

The Tibetans from settlement areas in Bylakoppe, Hunsur, Kollegal and other places participated in the agitation and later submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.
