TDP to stall Parliament on Babli Project from tomorrow
Hyderabad, Apr 25 (UNI) Taking exception to the Maharashtra government's reluctance in halting the Babli project works defying the Centre's order, the Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party (TDPP) today decided to stall Parliament proceedings in the budget session to be resumed from tomorrow in this regard.
Talking to newspersons here, TDPP leader Yerran Naidu said his party would stall the proccedings of Parliament after staging a dharna in front of the Gandhi statue in protest against the 'illegal' construction of Babli project across Godavari river by Maharashtra tomorrow.
Calling on all political parties to participate in the agitation, he said the TDPP would continue the struggle till the project works were stopped. The TDP MPs would raise the Babli issue during the question hour beginning tomorrow morning.
Demanding that the Centre scrap the Government Order (GO) making mandatory the printing of 'skull and bones' on beedi packets from June one, he said the TDP would also raise the Beedi issue with the support of other political parties till the GO was kept in abeyance.
Besides, the TDP would also raise the recent Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) scam unearthed in Andhra Pradesh, OBC reservation and SEZ issue in Parliament.
