Star 'Plus' makes mobile entertainment easier
Kolkata, Apr 25 (UNI) Star Mobile Entertainment, a mobile interactive division of STAR India Private Limited, today launched PLUS, a mobile application.
The company in a release here said that it had tied-up with major telecom operators like Hutch, BSNL, Idea, BPL, Spice and MTNL.
''Mobiles have become multimedia devices but their current usage in the country is limited and we are confident PLUS can exploit,'' Star Mobile Entertainment Vice-President Viren Popli said.
He said to provide a new generation experience, PLUS services would enable the comsumers with latest infotainment. It is a free downloaded service with Rs 30 per month as subscription charge.
However, the company has offered a free trial for one month.
The users can download the application via a GPRS connection or WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) with 220 compatible handsets at present, the release added.
The subscription pack enbles the mobile user to enjoy downloads of unlimited video clips, music and provides updates from sports and entertainment, including over 200 TV video clips per month.
Besides, TV Guide for program schedules, mobile banking balance till last 3 transactions, mobile travel and ticketing with makemytrip and travelguru, Yellow Pages information search, Astrology, News and more.
The company plans to invest Rs 15 crores on marketing and promotional activities for PLUS.
The company also provides 50 per cent off on all air tickets booked through makemytrip.com and on all hotels booked though travelguru.com.
