SP cannot come to power: Advani
Mirzapur, Apr 25 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today criticised ruling Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and claimed he could not return to power in Uttar Pradesh on the basis of ''pistol, money power and appeasement policies''.
Addressing an election meeting here, Mr Advani said: ''The EC is conducting the ongoing UP poll in free and fair manner. The state would soon get rid of SP's 'goondaraaj' like Bihar got free from RJD's clutches.'' If BJP leader Kalyan Singh formed the next government, he would take account of Nithari from Mr Yadav, he claimed.
Recalling the 1977 general election, when the Congress faced defeat, Mr Advani urged people to take the same decision in the state poll.
Comparing the BJP and the Congress, the former deputy PM noted his party was ruling in nine states and had greater number of MLAs than the Congress.
Tongue lashing BSP chief Mayawati, Mr Advani commented: ''she claims to be giving tickets to candidates of every caste...where is her slogan of 'tilak, tarazoo and talwaar' gone.'' UNI
