Severe heat waves prevail in coastal AP

Pune, Apr 25 (UNI) Severe heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Punjab while heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and isolated places in coastal Orissa.

Hot day conditions also prevailed in some parts of Punjab and of Rajasthan and at isolated places in Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and were above normal in some parts of Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Konkana and Goa, Madhya Maharshtra, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and of interior Karnataka.

They were appreciably to markedly below normal in Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, and were below normal in some parts of Bihar and Gujarat. They were normal over rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand and at isolated places in Orissa, Bihar, Uttaranchal, Punjab, Himalchal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, north bay islands and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhay Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manaipur, Mizoram, Tripura and at many places in Sub-Himalayan, West Bengal, Sikkim and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, east Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar islands.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
