RTO woman clerk caught red-handed accepting bribe

Palanpur, Apr 25 (UNI) A lady clerk in the local Road Transport Office (RTO) was today caught red-handed, accepting a bribe here.

Falguniben Thakkar (22), a clerk in the local Road Transport Office (RTO), was nabbed accepting Rs 500 from Vinod Kumar Valjibhai Patani of Deesa.

According to ACB Inspector J J Patel Mehsana, who had laid the trap, Falguniben had demanded amount for reducing penalty for a traffic offence.

Police said a motorcycle driven by a minor Kanubhai Somabhai Patani, nephew of Valji, was stopped by the Deesa traffic police and Falguni had demanded Rs 500 for reducing penalty from Rs 2,700 to Rs 1,300.

Valji Patani took the matter with the Anti Corruption bureau, Mehsana which laid the trap.
