Registration of Amarnath pilgrims to start soon

Srinagar, Apr 25 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Bank will soon start the registration of devotees intending to proceed on pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath from its various branches across the country.

This was stated at a high-level meeting held here last evening to review the arrangements for the Amarnath pilgrimage, scheduled to commence from June 30 this year.

At the meeting, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Basharat Ahmed stressed upon the officials of various departments connected with the annual Amarnath pilgrimage to formulate action and contingency plans by May 15.

This would ensure that all the camps along with the officials were made functional well before the commencement of the pilgrimage.

Mr Ahmed said the Jammu and Kashmir Bank will soon start the registration of pilgrims from its branches in various parts of the country.

However, he said on-the-spot registration would also be done by the agencies concerned.
