Nagaland: Myanmar Army visits 3 Corps
Kohima, Apr 25: An 18-member Myanmarese Army delegation led by Brig Gen Tin Maung Ohn has visited the Headquarters of 3 Corps at Rangapahar near Dimapur yesterday, according to defence sources here today.
The delegation had a meeting with that of the Indian side led by 3 Corps Chief of Staff Maj Gen Mahavir Singh and discussed various issues, including cross-border insurgency, arms smuggling and border management, sources said.
Nagaland along with Manipur, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh share an international boundary with Myanmar and the deep forests of the neighbouring country were being used as hideouts by various outfits.
Defence sources said these meetings are held twice a year to review and strengthen the relations between both the countries.
The next meeting would be held in Myanmar, sources said.
