MP's PDS to be replaced: CM
Ujjain, MP, Apr 25 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the State's public distribution system would be replaced and the new system would ensure proper and timely distribution of consumer items such as food grain and kerosene.
''The state is not receiving the required quota of kerosene from the Centre,'' he alleged while addressing a gathering at Shajapur district's Barod yesterday, as per an official release.
Mr Chouhan laid foundation stones for five development schemes exceeding Rs 50 crore. The schemes comprise a Rs 36-crore power station at Barod, Rs 5.15-crore Kanakhedi-Barkhedi irrigation project, Rs 6.79-crore Hadai irrigation project, upgradation of the Tanoria-Madkota road expending Rs 2.86 crore besides construction of a Rs 15-lakh Ambedkar Mangal Bhavan.
Rs 34.60-crore Agar-Sarangpur road, laid by the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation, was dedicated to the public.
The Chief Minister said that in order to prevent transmission losses a scheme worth Rs 2,700 crore - including repair of cables and transformers -- was prepared.
Among those present were Minister of State for Higher Education Tukoji Rao Puar and MLA Rekha Ratnakar, the release added.
