Mizo sets up foreign language training institute

Aizawl, Apr 25: With a view to solving unemployment problem and make educated youths compatible to work in foreign countries, Mizoram has decided to set up an international institute for foreign language training.

State Education Minister R Lalringthanga today said the institute will enhance the skill of the youth and exchange of professionals will boost the spirits of enterpreneurship, thus helping in the growth of industrial activities.

The institute would train the Mizo youths in languages like Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Thai and Filipino, enabling them to venture into eastern countries for more profitable jobs, official sources said.

The institute would also operate as a placement agency for the trained manpower besides, offering English language training for the East-Asian nationals.

A skill enhancement centre also had been proposed for organising and hosting Technical Skill Enhancement Training as well as exchange of professionals between Indian Technical Community and Eastern countries.
