Minorities not insecure in NDA regime-Maulana Rahmani
Darbhanga, Apr 25 (UNI) All India Muslim Personal Law Board General Secretary Maulana Mohammad Wali Rahmani today said there was no insecurity among the minorities in Bihar.
The former MLA told newsmen here, ''Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is an honest person with good moral character but surrounded by sychophants.'' He also spoke of the dominance of red tapism in the NDA government in the state.
Asked about the Sacchar Committee report, he said, ''It is the true picture of the socio-economic, political and educational backwardness of the Muslims in the country.'' Mr Rahmani said a nation could not progress leaving behind its largest minority.
He accepted that the community was trailing behind in the field of education due to which it was unable to compete for government jobs.
''But it is not the sole responsibility of the government to educate the community,'' Mr Rahmani said and exhorted Muslims to come forward to improve their literacy rate.
