Media under-estimating SP: Mulayam

Lucknow, Apr 25 (UNI) Exuding confidence about formation of the next Government in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today lamented that the media was under-estimating his party.

Addressing election meetings in Lucknow and Rae Bareli districts, Mr Yadav said the opinion polls by media have been projecting the SP losing seats in the the UP polls.

''SP will register thumping victory in the election. In earlier polls too, attempts were made to defeat our party, but it met with little success and the SP continued its forward march.'' He further claimed the ongoing UP polls would give new shape to the country's destiny.

''The opposition parties are unsettled with the development works done by my government and have mounted an all-out attack on the SP.

But, people know the reality of the BJP, BSP and Congress.'' Training guns on Congress, Mr Yadav noted that the party was responsible for the current spate of inflation in the country, which had made the life full of hardships for people.

He also blamed the Congress for the power crisis in UP. ''We had announced the Dadri power project, but the centre refused to provide gas, which has adversely affected the ambitious project.'' The CM promised if voted to power, UP would become the top producer of electricity in India, providing 24 hour power to its citizens, besides selling power to other states.

Criticising the BJP and BSP, he observed these parties were dividing the society in the name of religion and caste.

Coining a slogan of 'jo vikas karega aur suvidha dega, wah desh par raaj karega', Mr Yadav asserted that the amount of work done by his government was unparalled in the state's history.
