Malik meets ailing Geelani in Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 25: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik called on ailing firebrand leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani at his residence here to enquire about his health condition.

The meeting was seen by many political observers here as a first step toward rapprochement between the warring separatist leaders and groups in Kashmir.

Mr Malik had an hour-long meeting with Mr Geelani at his residence at posh Hyderpora near here.

The JKLF chief wished Mr Geelani a speedy recovery.

The breakaway Hurriyat Conference chairman returned here on April 22 from New Delhi where he was recuperating following his kidney surgery at Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital in Mumbai on March 26.
