Lift operator die as lift collapses

Surat, Apr 25 (UNI) A lift operator today died here after the lift in a building collapsed.

Police said the lift of Royal Aercade building in the Piplod area of the city collapsed this morning and Ajith Prajapati (30), who was inside the lift was seriously injured.

Even though Prajapati was taken to the New Civil Hospital by the watchman of the building Ramji Yadav, he was declared dead.

Police said that Prajapati was travelling to the top floor, when suddenly the lift collapsed. Police have registered a case and an investigation has been initiated into the incident.
