Leader rescued from clutches of abductors
Siwan, Apr 25 (UNI) Mr Lalan Pandey, who had contested the assembly election as an Independent, was rescued from the clutches of abductors in Uttar Pradesh's Baliya district early today.
According to police, Mr Pandey,who had contested from Raghunathpur constituency, was kidnapped from the same police station area on April 5 by members of the Paramhans Yadav gang.
The police said following a tip-off, a joint raid was conducted at Nai Basti village in Baliya district and Mr Pandey was rescued. Two criminals were also arrested.
Mr Pandey, who was abducted for ransom, was being escorted to Siwan.
