Karnataka to file clarification petition
Bangalore, Apr 25 (UNI) Karnataka will file a clarification petition in a couple of days before the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal on the final order announced on February five.
Briefing newspersons after a Cabinet meeting here, Home Minister M P Prakash said the Cabinet cleared the clarification petition, which would be filed under the Inter- State Water Dispute Act, 1956.
The state had rejected the Tribunal's verdict and would seek clarification on various points, including drinking water supply to Bangalore.
He alleged that the Tribunal had done injustice to the state by delivering an inappropriate verdict.
The Cabinet approved the costruction of government office complex in Hassan at a cost Rs 5.75 crore and at the Palace Road at for Rs 20 crore in the city.
It also empowered the Chief Minister to appoint the Chairman for the Karnataka Administration Tribunal.
He said Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy would lay a foundation stone for Rs 75 crore building for India Reserve Battalion at Munirabad in Koppal District tomorrow.
The Battalion would create atleast 1000 posts, he said, adding that the recruitment would begin very shortly.
