Aizawl, Apr 25: Renowned Human Rights activist Ruatfela Nu has opposed the Mizoram bandh on April 27 called by the youth wings of the State's combined opposition parties.

Ruatfela Nu, in her letter to the Youth Congress President of the Mizoram People's Conference and Zoram Nationalist Party, said she accepted that the political situation in Mizoram ''is turning worse''.

However, the letter said organising agitations could cause bigger problems to the public. ''Bandhs not only affect the poor, but also all developmental activities and the state's economy,'' the letter stated.

The youth activists are busy campaigning across the state for the success of the proposed bandh against the ''corrupt'' and ''underground-friendly'' Mizo National Front (MNF) government.
