Haryana: Shops to be registered within 15 days

Chandigarh, Apr 25 (UNI) The Haryana govenment has directed Labour Inspectors to register the shops and commercial establishments within 15 days from the date of receipt of the papers complete in all respects under the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act and Rules.

The Labour Inspectors would also dispose of the cases within two months after the date of announcement of the award for implementation and settlement under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 and Rules, Haryana Labour and Employment Minister Birender Singh said today.

He said they had also been directed to take one month in disposing of complaints under various laws such as Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, National and Festival Holidays Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, Payment of Bonus Act, Shop and Commercial Establishments Act, Equal Remuneration Act, Contract Labour (R&A) Act and the rules made under the respective enactments, he added.

Mr Birender Singh said that harmonious industrial relations were a pre-requisite for economic growth and in today's world of technological innovations and market fluctuations, a re-alignment of the conventional objectives of the Labour Department had become necessary.
