Gujarat Tourism gets SATTE Award

New Delhi, Apr 25 (UNI) Adding to its string of awards, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd (TCGL) has bagged yet another award -- this time round for the most ethnic theme pavilion at a South Asian tourism meet.

TCGL received the award at the South Asian Tourism and Travel Exchange (SATTE) meet, which concluded here earlier this week.

The event was attended by the representatives of SAARC countries as well as various states of India.

Gujarat Tourism had showcased the multi-coloured culture of the state at the pavilion, and it was appreciated by the travel representatives of SAARC countries.

During the event, Mr. Karan Grover,President, Heritage Trust, Vadodara, was also honoured by SATTE and Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) for his contributions to development of World Heritage Site of Champaner.

The Gujarat Government had celebrated last year as ''Year of Tourism'', and during the year, TCGL received a number of prestigious awards.

Mr. Kamlesh Patel, Chairman of TCGL, Mr. Atanu Chakravorthy, Secretary (Tourism) and Mr P D Vaghela, Managing Director of TCGL also attended the function.
