Efforts on to rescue boy trapped in borewell
Raichur, Karnataka, Apr 25 (UNI) Mining engineers from the Hutti Gold Mines were pressed into service to rescue a seven-year-old boy, who fell into an abandoned borewell at Neer Manvi village, about 35 km from here.
Raichur Superintendent of Police Padmanarayana told UNI that a parallel pit was being dug to reach the boy. However, the miners were facing obstacles due to a huge boulder and efforts were on to remove it.
He said though oxygen was being pumped continuously, there was no response from the boy.
Sandeep fell into the 60-foot deep borewell while playing along with his friends in an open area yesterday morning.
