EC is doing well to conduct fair and free poll : BJP
Jaunpur, Apr 25 (UNI) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kalraj Mishra today disputed the allegation of Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav against the Election Commission saying the EC had done well to conduct free and fair UP polls.
Addressing an election gathering, Mr Mishra said ''the allegation of Mr Yadav holds no water and his charge is not true that the EC is working against SP.'' He said it would be unfair to criticise a constitutional body like EC, which in any way had been working very fairly.
Claiming the BJP was poised well to win the ongoing UP assembly polls with full majority, he said there was a visible wave in favour of his party.
Coming down heavily on the UPA government at the Centre for having indulged in unnecessary Muslim appeasement policies, the former UP BJP President criticised the statement of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that Muslims had first right on the country's resources.
''Contrary to this, the BJP believes poor people have first right to the resources of the country,'', he added.
