CBI court frames charges against Judev
New Delhi, Apr 25 (UNI) A special CBI court today framed charges against former union minister and BJP leader Dilip Singh Judev in the 2003 illegal gratification case.
The prosecution contended that Judev, a BJP contender for chief ministership in Chhattisgarh, and Natwar Rateria, additional private secretary, had received illegal gratification of Rs 9 lakh on November 5, 2003 from one Bhupinder Singh Patel, alias, Rahul for extending favours in the matter of purported project in the states of Orissa, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
Investigations into the matter disclosed that Amit Jogi, son of Mr Ajit Jogi, the then Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh had hatched a conspiracy with Bhupinder Singh Patel, Arvind Vijay Mohan and Rajat Prasad to conduct a sting operation and record Judev, the then union minister of state for environment and forests, receiving bribe.
Special judge CBI I K Indermeet Kaur Kochar observed that there was sufficient material to frame charges against the accused.
