Kolkata, Apr 25(UNI) Expressing surprise why the Trinamool Congress was not attending all-party meetings at Nandigram, West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today once again appealed to the Opposition to make success another meet, to be convened soon at Nandigram.

"I fail to understand why the Trinamool Congress did not attend the all-party meeting on April 22 even after their leaders agreed on the agenda. I have asked the district administration to convene another all-party meeting shortly," he told reporters at the Writers' Buildings.

Observing that peace must be restored to ensure normal functioning and development works in Nandigram, the Chief Minister said nothing would be possible without the cooperation of the Opposition parties.

" There is a total stalemate. Roads in Nandigram are still lying dug up and educational institutions remain closed while functioning of Panchayat and block offices continue to be paralysed because of the prevailing situation," he said.

Mr Bhattacharjee said after the March 14 police firing the Opposition skipped the all-party meeting, called for the first time by the administration. The Government made repeated appeals to them to attend the meets convened thereafter, but all of them failed because of their non-participation.
