American Centre Library celebrates 60th anniversary in Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 25 (UNI) The American Centre Library today declared a year-long festival of events to mark its 60th anniversary here.

Speaking on the occasion, US Embassy Minister Counselor for Public Affairs, Larry Schwartz said, ''The American Centre is proud to have been part of New Delhi's rich culture and itellectual life since the time of India's independence.

''Our libary has set the standard as an extra ordinary venue for research and education'', he said adding that we intend to continue welcoming and working with the Indian visitors in the years to come.

As part of its anniversary celebrations the library will host a free entry ''Open House'' for the general public on Saturday from 1300 hrs to 1800 hrs.

Apart from performence by a native American hoop dancer in the Open House, there will be a screening of the film ''A Civil Action''. Besides, there will be information sessions on studying in the US and library resources.
