Agitation continues against CWDT award

Mysore, Apr 25 (UNI) Agitation against the final verdict of the Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal (CWDT) by farmers and various organisations continues in the Cauvery basin districts.

In Mandya District, the Cauvery Raitha Hitharakshana Samithi, spearheading the agitation, continued throughout district. The agitators detained the Bangalore-Mysore train and blocked the Mysore-Bangalore State Highway for some time.

In Mysore, the Pre-University evaluators boycotted the valuation work for one hour in Mysore expressing their solidarity with the agitation.

They later submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner urging the intervention of Union Government to solve the issue through negotiations.
