100 cheque leaves missing from BGML office

Kolar Gold Fields, Apr 25 (UNI) As many as 100 cheque leaves of Corporation Bank, Robertsonpet Branch, were found missing from the office of the closed Bharat Gold Mines Limited (BGML) here.

According to a complaint lodged with the police, the cheques, meant for disbursement of final settlement of BGML ex-employees were being sorted out and signed in the Finance Department yesterday.

Meanwhile, ex-employees N Subramani, T S Purushothaman, J Louis and T Srinivasan came inside the room and held discussion with Mr Rockstney, incharge for Special Terminal Benefit Package. During the discussion, heated arguments took place on the issue of BGML bulletins and after ten minutes the ex-employees left.

While sorting the cheque books (19 nos of 100 each), one cheque book of 100 leaves bearing nos 414101 to 414200 of Corporation Bank, Robertsonpet, KGF Account No C/A 526, all duly signed were found missing.

A copy of the police complaint has been sent to the Bank with a request not to honour these cheques.

Police is investigating.
