Reliancedigital launched; aims consumer durable

New Delhi, Apr 24: Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance Retail todaylaunched its pilot consumer durable and IT products store,'Reliancedigital' and said it will set up 150 such stores in the nextthree to four years.

The company will launch its first hypermarket in the next three to four months.

Reliancedigital is the second format of stores from the companyafter the launch of Reliance Fresh. ''Depending on the size of thestore and the location, the cost would be around Rs 3-10 crore perstore,'' said President and CEO, Consumer Durable IT&Telecom,Reliancedigital Ajay Baijal.

The digital stores will be in a combination of standalone stores and malls.

Reliance Retail had announced an investment of Rs 25,000 crore for its retail expansion by the year 2011.
