Bhopal, Apr 24: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has written a letter to all his cabinet colleagues seeking their cooperation to ensure that the Bal Sanjivani campaign against malnutrition was successful.

The tenth phase of the campaign began yesterday to identify malnourished children and to give necessary advice to the parents, while serious malnourished children were given medical treatment.

The campaign is carried out in two phases each year.

In his letter to all members of the council of ministers, Mr Chouhan said significant decline in the number of malnourished children had been registered in the past five years since the campaign was launched. He sought the cooperation of the ministers to make the campaign successful in the districts under their charge by enlisting the cooperation of the local public representatives and cent percent participation of the targetted beneficiaries.

The campaign, he said, had been launched with an objective to check malnutrition among the children and to undertake vaccination, administration of Vitamin A, treatment of malnourished children and advising parents about balanced diet, hygiene and safe potable water. He expressed optimism about success of the campaign.
