BJP concerned on trans national terrorist network
New Delhi, Apr 24: The BJP today cautioned the Centre about thetrans national terrorist network and demanded firm action against nexusbetween various terrorist and secessionist organisations.
The party expressed apprehensions that Al Qaeda-backed ISI linkswere deep rooted in outfits like ULFA, MULFA, MULTA, LTTE and Naxalitesoperating in various regions.
The party referred to the recent military intelligence reportabout ISI links with ULFA and other militant groups operating inNorth-East, saying that ULFA was ultimately fighting the Jihadi war onbehalf of ISI and outsourcing explosives and IEDs to militant groups.
The party, quoting US intelligence agency Stratfor report, saidISI had facilitated cooperation between ULFA and other northeasternmilitant outfits with the LTTE of Sri Lanka and militant groups inJammu and Kashmir. The US agency also spoke of trans national terroristnetwork which included militant groups of Bangladesh and their linkswith Al Qaeda.
Briefing newspersons, BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said therecent seizures of large cache of arms and ammunitions in Tamil Nadusent by LTTE for naxalites must be seen "in this large backdrop oftrans national terrorist network."
