Syntel records highest revenue and EPS in history
Hyderabad, Apr 23: Syntel, Inc., the global information technology services and BPO firm with extensive operations in India, released its financial results for the first quarter of 2007.
The company reported the quarter's revenue at 75.4 million US Dollars (Rs 331.76 crores), an 18.8% jump over the prior-year period. Syntel's Market Capitalisation stood at 1.55 billion US Dollars (Rs 6820 crores) as on April 17, 2007.
Founded over 25 years ago, Syntel today employs over 8,600 people across its offices in North America, Europe and Asia. In India, Syntel has its Global Development Centres for IT services and offshoring at Mumbai, Chennai and Pune, where the Company was making ongoing investments with the aim of enhancing the service capability.
Syntel's custom BPO practice continues to ramp very nicely, with growth of over 20 per cent sequentially and 180 per cent versus the first quarter of 2006.
''During the first quarter, Syntel broke ground on our new 29-acre campus program in Chennai, as we continued to create world-class facilities for our clients as well as our employees,'' said Keshav R Murugesh, Syntel President and Chief Operating Officer.
''We created in excess of 2,000 seats in our new Pune campus during the quarter.That now gives us more than 3,000 seats in Phase I of the Pune technology campus,'' he said.
