ND: Shyamal Ghosh named SRO Chairman
New Delhi, Apr 23: Former Telecom Secretary Shyamal Ghosh has been appointed as the Chairman of the proposed Self Regulatory Organisation (SRO), initiated by NASSCOM.
Mr Ghosh will be leading the effort of setting up the SRO, functionally and structurally, NASSCOM President Kiran Karnik told reporters here today.
SRO is an independent self-regulatory body formed to enforce privacy and data protection standards for India's IT and BPO industry.
It will raise the floor on information security practices among Indian organisations, Mr Karnik added.
