MP kids take oath to conserve energy

Bhopal, Apr 23: School children from various districts of Madhya Pradesh have taken an oath here on the occasion of Earth Day to protect natural resources, conserve energy and save water.

With a view to checking pollution, the kids yesterday also swore to help make every day an Earth Day. The oath was administered by Principal Chief Conservator of Forests B R Khare at a two-day programme in Kerwa eco-tourism area. Chief Conservator of Forests Jabbar Hasan and other officials were present.

''The children were taught about protecting the environment, through a film and literature,'' said Ecotourism Incharge Officer V S Pillai.

A Children's Parliament passed a proposal for conserving rainwater, lessening polythene use, conserving energy, natural beauty and heritage.
