K'taka Govt serious about banning Horse Race
Bangalore, Apr 23: Karnataka Minister for Lottery and Small Savings Ramchandragowda today reiterated that the state government was serious about banning Horse Race in the State.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that the Law department has been approached for its opinion and the department is studying the issue in detail.
Stating that Horse Race was nothing but gambling, he said that " we have no objection as long as the racing was limited to the club members." Mr Ramachandragowda said that the details Law department opinion on banning the Horse Race would be placed before the cabinet for taking final decision.
Replying to a question, he said that steps would be taken to get the stay vacated from the High Court on ban on sale of Lottery tickets in the State.
