Dhaka, Apr 22 (UNI) A metropolitan magistrate court today issued a warrant of arrest for former Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina in a political murder case.

Hasina's political adversaries Jamaat-e-Islami has filed the case accusing Hasina and leaders of her 14-party alliance of killing five Jamaat activists during the pre-emergency political violence last October in Dhaka.

Metropolitan Magistrate Meer Ali Reza issued the warrant showing Hasina and the two others as absconding.

However, Hasina now in London on way to Dhaka is facing travel restrictions issued by the military-backed caretaker government.

Although she has got a confirmed ticket of the British Airways, the airlines is unwilling to issue her a boarding pass to fly from London to Dhaka following the Bangladesh government's advice. She is scheduled to reach Dhaka tomorrow.

The caretaker government imposed restrictions on Hasina's return to home apprehending that she might provoke political instability and disruption to economic activities.

While in London, Hasina vowed to return to Bangladesh on schedule and declined to seek political asylum if she is not allowed to enter the country.
