War-like stores seized in Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 22 (UNI) Troops seized a huge haul of arms and ammunition from three militant hideouts across the Kashmir valley since last evening, a military spokesperson said today.

Troops of 30 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), on specific information, launched a search operation in Shahnagri forests in Langait area of the border district of Kupwara last evening.

During the search, the RR personnel seized war-like stores from an underground dump in the forest area, the spokesperson added.

He said two AK rifles, four magazines, 120 rounds of ammunition, ten hand grenades, 31 under-barrel grenade launchers (UBGLs) and 35 electronic detonators were seized from the hideout.

Troops of 3 RR and police busted a militant hideout in the hills near Pahalgam in south Kashmir district of Anantnag. One RPG launcher, 90 rounds of AK ammunition and six hand grenades were seized from the dump.

In yet another operation at Satri Forests near Bandipora in north Kashmir, personnel of 2 Para, during a search, busted a militant hideout and seized 2 AK rifles, 20 AK magazines, 600 rounds of AK ammunition, one UBGL, 21 UBGL grenades, six hand grenades, six wireless sets and other war-like and administrative stores.
