Temperature shoots up in city

Vijayawada, Apr 22 (UNI) The residents of the city today experienced a hot day with the maximum temperature hovering to 40 deg C as against 38.3 deg C recorded yesterday.

A met official told UNI here that the minimum temperature recorded was 26.5 deg C.

The arterial roads wore a deserted look due to the heat as people preferred to stay indoors.

The maximum temperature was likely to increase further in the next 24 hours, the official added.
