Several hundred in HP attend Dalai Lama's sermon in HP
Solan, Apr 22 (UNI) Hundreds of people turned up in Solan town of Himachal Pradesh to attend a discourse on Buddhism, delivered by Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama.
Buddhism offers solace from the daily problems that they face in their life, devotees said after the spiritual leader's discourse yesterday.
Jeet Singh Negi, a resident of the town, said the Dalai Lama's sermons were on Buddhism.
People in the European countries have a lot of money but have some or the other issue that makes them uncomfortable and Buddhism offered a better a better way of relaxing the nerves, he said.
Mr Negi said the devotees Kinnaur, Dehradun, Delhi and Ludhiana besides several foreigners attended the sermon.
The Dalai Lama gave his discourse in Tibetan, which was later translated to Hindi.
The Buddhist spiritual leader set up his seat of power in Dharamsala town after he and his followers fled to India in 1959, nine years after China-occupied Tibet.
