Management Guru shot dead in Varanasi

Varanasi, Apr 22: Exposing the high claims of district police security preparedness for May 3 Assembly polls, unidentified men shot dead Managing Director of a premier management institute here.

Raj Kumar Singh (42), Managing Director of SAMS Institute of Hotel Management was shot dead last night by unidentified criminals outside a marriage lawn in Rathyatra area, police said.

During the marriage, Mr Singh had gone to ease himself when unidentified men shot him dead from point blank range, police added.

A hand of extortionists was being suspected in the crime and further investigations were on.

Earlier, in the day, a handicraft dealer Prem Narayan Gupta was shot dead by criminals in the Bhelupur area.

The slain dealer was the father of Santosh alias Kittu, presently in jail for murdering sharp-shooter Annu Tripathi inside Varanasi district jail in 2005.
