Fobaz aims setting up 150 stores by year-end

New Delhi, Apr 22: FoBaz Foto Bazaar (India) Pvt Ltd, digital photos E-portal offering online image solutions like photo sharing, photo gifts and photo cards, will launch more than 150 stores by the year-end.

''Not only is the retail landscape in India changing, the traditional photo retailer/studio is struggling to keep up with the new technologies. The vision of FoBaz is to transform the way pictures are looked at in India by making them more personalised,'' Mr Virender Ahluwalia, MD and CEO, FoBaz Foto Bazaar said.

The company has also announced a tie-up with a Mumbai-based firm to organise over 100 FoBaz stores in western India in the next couple of months.

With this, FoBaz, a wholly-owned subsidiary of FoBaz Foto Bazaar, Cayman Islands, has kicked off its retail chain plans in the 300 billion dollar Indian retail market.

FoBaz products and services which so far were available on-line only, through its e-portal at www.fobaz.com, will now be available at retail also.

Customers can also order the products and services on-line and take delivery at any of the company's stores.

Mr Tarun Kapoor, Managing Director (MD) of Kapoor Digital Labs and a FoBaz franchisee says, ''We now stand on a platform where we can reap the benefits of digital photography market in India.'' The company set up a photo e-portal in Octorber last which delivers a host of services.

FoBaz launched its first three stores in the capital last week.
